Preparation and Submission of Manuscripts
Papers should be prepared using A4 page size and font no smaller than 10pt, and preferably 12 pt, double spaced with margins at least 4cm wide. Manuscripts will be typeset in LaTeX using the SAMSA Journal of Pure and Applicable Mathematics house style. Authors are invited to send their LaTeX-files prepared in the article style. Papers should be submitted electronically to any one of the Managing Editors.
The title of the manuscript should be carefully chosen. A good title will indicate the area of mathematics investigated in the paper, and hence attract specialists in this area. It is advisable to avoid symbols in the title of the paper unless it is absolutely necessary.
The author’s name, affiliation postal and e-mail addresses must appear at the top of the paper, before the abstract.
An abstract should be carefully written such that it is easily understood by readers whose speciality may be different from the author’s. It should summarize the main results of the investigation.
Classification numbers from the most recent Mathematics Subject Classification followed by key words and phrases should follow the abstract. The website for classification numbers is at http://www.ams.org/msc. Carefully chosen key words and phrases help the editors find the most suitable referees as well as attract the appropriate specialist readers in the area.
Responsibility for the accuracy of the paper rests with the author(s). The author(s) must therefore carefully check their work before submission of the paper to the Editor. See Editorial Board listing below.
Figures should be supplied in a form that both saves space and enhances clarity of exposition. The journal uses italic type for theorems, lemmas, corollaries, etc, but not usually for definitions, examples, conjectures, etc.
References should be collected at the end of the paper, listed in alphabetical order, with papers by the same author being listed in chronological order, and numbered consecutively. Referenced papers should indicate full details of journal of publication as well as page numbers. Referenced books should indicate the publisher as well as the date of publication.
